If you are interested in enrolling your child or knowing more about New Horizons Child Development Center, please contact us at your earliest convenience at 502-227-4907. If there is a waiting list for the specific class you require, you will need to fill out an application. You will be contacted upon an opening and the spot may be reserved for a $50 non-refundable deposit.  We encourage new and expectant parents to visit us at anytime. It is the desire of the director and teachers to meet with prospective parents to answer any questions and concerns. We look forward to teaching your children soon.

 

The mission of New Horizons Child Development Center is to provide childcare in a Christian environment, which will be nurturing, stimulating, safe, and responsive to young children and their families.

New Horizons Child Development Center is a ministry of First Christian Church. Therefore, our approach to child development is intentionally Christian. We respect the diversity of the beliefs and religious backgrounds of the families of the children enrolled at NHCDC. We believe in a holistic approach to child development, including the child’s spiritual well -being. We believe the most important element in development is in the establishment of a safe, trusting, and loving environment.

Our program is child-centered and based upon the belief that play is an essential avenue for learning. Our approach is individualized to meet each child’s needs and interests. Each classroom is organized with centers for creative art, literature, science, math, dramatic play, and cognitive and small motor development. The environment is planned to stimulate imagination, creativity, socialization, exploration and discovery. The classes we offer are listed below:

Book1

A morning and afternoon snack is provided, along with milk. Parents are responsible for bringing lunch daily. Lunches must meet the Kentucky Child Care Regulation guidelines:

Each lunch must contain 1/4 cup serving of :  1 vegetable and 1 fruit; Or 2 vegetables; 1 protein; 1 grain

NHCDC is participating in the STARS for KIDS NOW initiative which evaluates childcare programs using a scale of 1 to 4 STARS to identify levels of quality. All STAR levels surpass the minimum state licensing requirements that all programs must meet. NHCDC strives to exceed standards associated with quality care that result in positive outcomes for young children. STARS for KIDS NOW demonstrates a commitment toward providing quality care and education for young children.
